Jeep, earlier this year, kicking off the arrival of its redesigning Grand Cherokee by launching a new three-row variant that is called the Grant Cherokee L. Moreover, it is already at dealerships and is now pricing to start at $38,690, which includes the destination.

But if buyers want to seek the regular two-row Grand Cherokee, they are, in fact, going to have to wait a bit longer. Moreover, it is set to debut tomorrow, Wednesday, September 29th. Then it is going to arrive later this year as a 2022 model. But when it arrives, there will also be a 4xe plug-in hybrid option.

Jeep – First Look

Moreover, Jeep providing a first look at the new 2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe in July. This is as part of a presentation outlining the electrification strategy of parent company Stellantis.

It is not knowing what powertrain setup the Grand Cherokee 4xe will be using. In the Wrangler 4xe, there will be a 2.0-liter turbocharging inline-4, single electric motor, and 17.3-kilowatt-hour battery. This is possible for the Grand Cherokee 4xe now swaps the inline-4 for a V-6.

Other Powertrains

The other powertrains that are meaning for the Grand Cherokee should, in fact, be the 290-hp 3.6-liter V-6 and 357-hp 5.7-liter V-8 offering in the Grand Cherokee L. Moreover, the sole transmission should be an 8-speed automatic and the multiple Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, and Quadra-Drive II four-wheel-drive systems on offer.

Moreover, the Jeep hasn’t said whether the new 4xe option will be offering in the Grand Cherokee L. However, the move is likely giving the two Grand Cherokee variants are twins under the skin. Jeep is also quite determining about electrification and is even establishing its own charging stations at trailheads.

Zero-Emission Vehicle

Jeep is making a promise to deliver a zero-emission vehicle in every segment. This is possible thanks to four highly flexible battery-electric platforms. They are being developing by Stellantis. Thus, the platforms are the STLA Small, STLA Medium, STLA Large, and STLA Frame, and will offer range figures starting at 300 miles and going all the way up to 500 miles.
